Worth Ward Dale, Jr., very peacefully, surrounded by love, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2026. Worth was born on October 12th, 1955 in Gates North Carolina. He was raised by his loving Mother and Father, Delma Ann Hurdle Dale and Worth Ward Dale Sr. who preceded him in death but left him with a strong and caring legacy.
Worth worked for over 43 years as a Master Ship Builder, one of the highest ranks, at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News Va. He was a leader of men where precision was ever so important, all the while taking time to train and support those around him. He enjoyed sharing the Gospel with everyone he met and even led a Bible study during his lunch hour. His experience and expertise in his job brought him great joy.
Worth's main objective in life was to share the word of Christ. For several years Worth led a small house church in Sneads Ferry, NC, which proved to be an amazing experience in sharing God's precious love. He then joined the Cape Colony Church of Christ where he continued to seek the word of God and fellowship. If you think of Worth Dale Jr, you immediately think of a true "Fisher of Men".
Worth is survived by his wife of over 47yrs, Anne Bissette Dale. His son, West Dale and wife Kaitlyn. His Daughter Sarah Dale Webster and husband Drew. His grandchildren, the apple of his eye: James Ward Webster, Gia Kole Dale, Millie Andrews Webster and Kaylee Grace Dale. We will remember his laughter, teasing and amazing love for all of us. We can genuinely say he was our best friend. Such a precious gift to have had him in our lives.
Worth is survived by many loving siblings. All of whom he adored and were special to him in their own way. Joy Dale Applegate and husband Tim, Dion Dale, Brett Dale and wife Thea, Bridget Dale Lewis and husband George, Hope Dale Griswold and husband Sonny, Dana Dale and wife Teresa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and an In-Law family that all loved him dearly.
The family suggests casual attire. Maybe something bright or your favorite Camo would bring a smile to our faces.
Funeral arrangements will be held at The Cape Colony Church of Christ on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., with fellowship following the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a contribution in Worth's name to Cape Colony Church of Christ 831 Soundside Dr. Edenton NC 27932 or Gentiva Hospice, 200 Green St. #203 Williamston, NC 27892.
Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral home of Edenton is serving the Dale family.
