William “Bill” Henry Worley, 63, of Edenton, NC, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Born on February 6, 1963, Bill was the beloved husband of Cherry Hope Worley and the son of the late William Henry Shaner, his father; James Garland Worley, his stepfather; and Patricia Estelle Lewis Worley, his mother.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cherry; his children, Amanda and husband Michael, William and wife Katie, Zechariah and wife Devan, Starleah and husband Braxton; his stepson, Logan; his grandchildren, Easton, Carter, Skylar, Charlotte, Peyton, Leia, Gunner, and Greyson, Caroline and Colton; and his siblings, Larry and wife Kelly, Kenny, Stacy and husband Glen, and Jamie and husband Andy.

Bill was the kind of person who never met a stranger and never hesitated to help someone in need. His family was the center of his world, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by those he loved. He found special joy in Christmas, a season he embraced with enthusiasm and a generous heart. Whether he was casting a fishing line, tinkering with an engine, spending time with his beloved pets, or sharing stories and laughter with family and friends, Bill lived life with determination, humor, and heart. His faith in Jesus guided him through life and brought him strength, comfort, and peace. Those who knew Bill will remember his unwavering loyalty, his willingness to fight for the people he loved, and the gentle kindness that made everyone feel welcome.

A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home Chapel, Edenton, NC. The family will greet friends on Saturday immediately following the service in the chapel.
