William Gurney "Billy" Riddick

William Gurney “Billy” Riddick, 79, Sunbury, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Sentara Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City, NC.

Billy was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 10, 1946, and was the husband of the late Patricia Ann Hinton Riddick and the son of James Albert Riddick and Elva Mae Britt Riddick, both deceased.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Riddick; son William A. Riddick and wife, Dana; three grandchildren, Katelyn Hill and husband, Jeryl, Will Riddick, and Patrick Morgan; one great grandson; and sister Rita Corprew and husband, Bobby.

In addition to his wife and parents, Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Jo Riddick Pulley.

Funeral services celebrating Billy’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Sandy Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Proctor and Evangelist Jay Corprew officiating. The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.Burial will be private in the Riddick Cemetery, Hobbsville, NC
