Wilbur Lee Lane Jr.

Wilbur Lee Lane, Jr., 65, of Suffolk, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in Sentara Obici Hospital. Mr. Lane was born in Hertford County on Tuesday, March 15, 1960, and was the son of the late Wilbur Lee Lane Sr. and Alice Mae Lassiter Lane. He was an auto mechanic and enjoyed high-performance motors and fishing.

Besides his mother, Wilbur is survived by two sons, Ryan Lane and his wife, Ashleigh of Suffolk and Kevin Lane of Windsor, VA; two brothers, Kenny Lane and his wife, Becky of Aulander and Roger Lane and his wife, Mayme of Windsor, VA; four grandchildren, Cristopher Lane, Austen Lane, Abigail Lane, and Kayley Shelton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and extended family members.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 8th at 2:00 pm in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be conducted by Pastor Jeffery Russell. Interment will follow at Lassiter Family Cemetery in Hobbsville, NC.
