Werner Ervin Clyden

   Werner Ervin Clyden, 62, of Corapeake, NC, died Thursday, February 22, 2024 in his home.

Mr. Clyden was born in Vermilion County, IL on December 28, 1961 and was the son of Cindy Lou Rutledge Clyden of Hoopeston, IL and the late Donald Lee Clyden, Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.

   Retired as a Petty Officer First Class from the US Navy following over 20 years of service, he was a Baptist by faith. Among his many enjoyments, he particularly loved playing video games.

   Surviving along with his mother is his wife of nearly 39 years, Jo Nell Chism Clyden; two daughters, Alisha Becker of Connecticut and Sarah Clyden of Corapeake; his son, Christopher Clyden (Alexis) of Wilmington; two sisters, Janet Doyle and Vickie Beaty; a brother, Donald Clyden, Jr., all of Illinois; three grandchildren, Brandon Lee Conary, Corinne Rose Becker, and Piper Jo Clyden; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   In accordance with his wishes, private services will be held.
