Warren Leonard Alexander, Jr., 80, of Elizabeth City passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN.

A native of Creswell, NC, Warren was the husband of 54 years to Joyce Ann Alexander, he was the love of her life, and the son of Warren Leonard Alexander, Sr. and Norma Irene Flynn Alexander, both deceased. Warren was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner and operator of Alexander's Master Care Sales and Service for 45 years. He loved his family and had a knack for humor, often sharing jokes and speaking his mind. He loved and visited his fish pond daily. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures.

Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce; daughters, Crystal Lamb and husband, Louis, and Tonya Meads and husband, Keith; sons, Charles Owens and wife, Belinda, and Mike Owens and wife, Kimberly; twelve grandchildren, Cortney Weeks, Justin Lamb, Brooke Lamb, Kaylee Lamb, Jessica Koon, Ashleigh Owens, Amber Owens, Joey Davis, Tiffani Owens, Nicole Owens, and Charlie Owens; fourteen great grandchildren, Chandler Weeks, Wyatt Weeks, Weston Weeks, Adalyn Norlund, Brycen Bray, Avaleigh Bray, Brynleigh Bray, Paisley Owens, Hayden Ward, Noah O’Brien, Asher O’Brien, Ava Koon, Aria Koon and Alahna Koon; four sisters, Tena Jones, Linda Spear, Becky Spear, and Teressa Hayes; three brothers, Floyd Alexander, Leroy Alexander, and Timmy Alexander; and his children and grandchildren from previous marriages, Tammy Lane and husband, Steve, Danny Alexander and wife, Angela, and Jeff Alexander and wife, April, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his son, Lyn Alexander; grandson, Lee Meads, and great grandson, Caiden Weeks; two sisters, Norma Davenport and Daisy Armstrong; and two brothers, Joe Alexander and Jackie Alexander.

The family will greet friends at the residence of his daughter, Tonya Meads, 148 Danielle Drive, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, on Wednesday, January 7th and Thursday, January 8th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Also, there will be a public visitation and viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home in Hertford, NC.

Funeral services celebrating Warren’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Fountain of Life Church with Pastor Hans Hess officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC.
