Walter Robert Russell

Walter Robert Russell, 75, of Windsor, NC passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 .

A native of Hertford County, NC, Robert was the husband of 54 years to Sandra Lee Russell and was the son of Robert Herman Russell and Hilda Parrish Russell, both deceased. Robert was a proud veteran of the National Guard with more than six years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; daughter, Roberta Russell Reason; grandson, Robert Russell and wife, Destiny; and three great grandchildren, Amora Russell, Aubrey Russell, and Robert “R.J.” Russell, Jr.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Baker and his brother, Odville Russell.

A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home Chapel in Edenton, NC with Pastor Randy Pierce officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the funeral home.
