Vivian Williams Hale

   Vivian La Veta Williams Hale, 83, of 330 Mexico Road, Edenton, NC, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 in her home where she was being cared for by family.

   Mrs. Hale was born in Pasquotank County on November 21, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Alton and Mary Elizabeth Wright Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max George Hale in 1994; her sister, Alice Faye Williams Jones, and by her brother, Warren Lee Williams. A homemaker, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

   Surviving are her two daughters, Barbara Hale Straughen of Saratoga, NY and Frances Hale Beal (husband, Clifton) of Edenton; two sons, James LeRoy Hale (wife, Darlene) of Edenton and Randall Cejka Hale (wife, Rachel) of Smithfield; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

   A private burial will be held in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the residence.
