Steven Ray Evans

Steven Ray Evans, 72 of Moyock passed away on June 17, 2026 at Norfolk General Hospital.

Steve was born on September 5, 1953 in Pasquotank County. He was the son of Edgar "Pugh" Evans and Phyllis Evans. After graduating from High School he became a professional painter.

Outside of work, Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also has a passion for playing bluegrass with family and friends. He is predeceased by both parents and his brother Brian.

He is survived by an aunt Carolyn Davis of Murphy NC, an uncle John Sawyer (Mary) of Brunswick, GA, and an aunt Patricia Todd of GA.

A funeral service will be held at the Evans Cemetery across from 1186 Tull's Creek Road on Sunday July 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
