Stanley Keith Wood

Stanley Keith Wood, 73, of Seaford, VA died Monday, December 1, 2025 at his Sunbury home.

Stan was born in York County, VA on November 18, 1952 to the late James and Lillie Wood. Stan was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ray and Danny Wood.

Stan retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Master Shipbuilder. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies, Larry Williams, Bill Schell, Andy Pare and Denver Monk. Stan also enjoyed hunting and working in his garden. He was a true Dodge lover and very proud of his red Dodge with over 600,000 miles on it.

He spent his weekends and his time after retirement in Sunbury, NC where he was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. There he was a deacon and treasurer of the Men’s Bible Class, and helped with the Baptist Men putting up handicap ramps.

Stan is survived by the love of his life, Betty Riddick of 40 years. He is also survived by multiple in-laws, including Theresa Wood, Faye Wood, Robert Riddick and Mary Lou Hollowell (W.H.); and several nieces and nephews, along with some great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Beulah Baptist Church, Sunbury, NC with Rev. Greg Jernigan officiating. A private burial will be at the Damascus Christian Church Cemetery, Sunbury, NC. The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
