Sidney Stevenson Baggett, Jr.

Sidney Stevenson Baggett, Jr., 75, of Hertford, NC, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, in ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, Washington.

Mr. Baggett was born in Martin County on June 29, 1949, and was the son of the late Sidney Stevenson Baggett, Sr. and Dorothy Chesson Baggett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Lang Baggett.

A veteran, he first served in the Marine Corps and continued his service in the Army having retired following over 20 of dedicated service. A talented musician, he played several instruments with his favorite being the guitar and he also loved to sing. Among his other enjoyments, he traveled the world and enjoyed seeing different sites and cultures.

Surviving is his daughter, Sydney Passwaters of Hertford; two sons, James Baggett (Rasheeda) of Fort Worth, TX and Derek Baggett of Mount Olive; two sisters, Teresa Fowden (Leslie) of Hertford and Elizabeth Baggett of Sanford; and seven grandchildren, Zoey, Corrine, Connor, Leah-Jean, Kayla, Austin, and Autumn.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
