Sharon "Kim" Spencer Cochran

Sharon “Kim” Spencer Cochran, 62, of Corapeake died on Thursday, November 20, 2025 surrounded by family. She was a daughter of the late Elbert “Bud” Lee Spencer and Carolyn Randa Winstead Spencer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gary Cochran.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary “Butch” Cochran; a daughter, Addison Boseman (Jake) of Corapeake; sister, Dana Pickens (Banks) of Charlotte; mother-in-law, Virginia Cochran; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jon Cochran (Tammy), Steve Cochran (Leslie), Brian Cochran (Connie) and Jimmy Cochran (BJ); a grandson, Holden Boseman born just recently, Kim was blessed to witness his birth, hold him and love him; a niece she loved like a second daughter, Spencer Pickens; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Kim retired from Sentara Therapy Center/YMCA. She enjoyed spending time shopping with her daughter, spending time with her family, and planting flowers around her yard. Kim could often be found sipping her coffee under the arbor and enjoying the company of her hummingbirds on many mornings.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Memory of Kim.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, NC 27938 with Pastor Greg Jernigan officiating. Burial will be private.
