Sarah Louise Barnes Stallings, 80, of 707 Gliden Road, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Three Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation, Windsor.
Mrs. Stallings was born in Edgecombe County on July 19, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Woodrow Rose Barnes and Lucille Mae Holmes Barnes Ambrose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Marion Stallings, son-in-law, Daniel Dalton, Sr, and by a brother, Oscar Barnes.
Retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse, through the years she had been employed at a local nursing home in Hertford, and later owned and operated her own facility, Stallings Rest Home. A faithful member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, other enjoyments included her love of birds and shopping, particularly at Belk.
Surviving is her daughter, Deborah Dalton of Edenton; four sons, Tommy Stallings (Sharon) of Eudora, KS, David Stallings (Dara) of Edenton, Marshall Stallings of Washington, and Steven Stallings (Lisa) of Hertford; four sisters, Ann Baker of Winfall, Peggy Hutson of Winston-Salem, Jo Joyner of Rocky Mount, and Carolyn Ambrose of Manns Harbor; a brother, Charles Barnes of Southern Pines; nine grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Jessica, Allen, Sarah, Carrie, Michelle, Nicole, Sierra, and Aaron; nine great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Hannah, Lindsay, Cameron, Emalyn, Aspen, Ryan, Easton, and Wrenley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Tyson.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be conducted by Pastor Danny Gurganus. A private inurnment will be in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service on Saturday and all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1614 Virginia Road, Edenton, NC 27932.
