Samantha Clayton Mikus

   Samantha Carol Clayton Mikus, 59, of 1519 Sac Trail, Edenton, NC, in the Arrowhead Beach community, died Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

   Mrs. Mikus was born in McDowell County, West Virginia on November 11, 1962, and was the daughter of the late Sammie Lewis Clayton and Shirley Ann Rector Boyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel.

   A homemaker, Samantha enjoyed sewing, crafts, yard sales, riding motorcycles, scrapbooking her family memories through pictures and videos, and the ocean. She was a mentor and “mother to all” of her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

   Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Ronald Steven Mikus; two daughters, Debbie of Chicago, IL and Sherri Ann of Edenton; four sons, Ronnie (Kristen) of Williamsburg, VA, Steven (Amber) of Greenville, and Billy (Ashley) and Robert (Rebecca), both of Tyner; two sisters, Jenny Mae of Garner and Sherri of Lake Station, IN; and a brother, Norman of Oklahoma. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren: Michelle, James, Cody, “Lil” Ronnie, Faithlynn, Madelyn, Mansa, Lucy, Robbie, Rosalynn, Reagan, Nolen, Declan, Dominick, Samantha, Juliet, and Michael; and 4 great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Rev. Buck Leary. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service.
