Ruby Lane Harrell

Ruby Lane Harrell, 93, of Hertford, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Born on August 13, 1932 in Pasquotank County, NC, Ruby was the daughter of James Lafayette Lane and Hattie Rountree Lane, both deceased.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Ray Harrell; brother, Nelson Lane; and sister, Madge Van Horne.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Harrell; three grandchildren, Bradley Harrell, Matthew Ward and wife, Waverly, and Travis Ward and wife, Robin; and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Ruby’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Mt. Sinai Church, 389 Swamp Road, Hertford, NC with Pastor Howard Sutton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Mt. Sinai Church Building Fund.
