Rocio Rivera De La Cruz Ellis

   Rocio Jazmin Rivera De La Cruz Ellis, 46, of 4188 Whichard Road, Greenville, NC, died Thursday, April 7, 2022 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mrs. Ellis was born in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico on June 21, 1975, and was the daughter of Francisca De La Cruz De Rivera of Coatzacoalcos and the late Eduardo Rivera Torres.

   A Spanish Medical Interpreter with Vidant Medical Center, she held an Associate’s degree from Roanoke-Chowan Community College in Ahoskie, a Bachelor’s of Science from East Carolina University, a Master’s in Physiology and a Master’s in Business Administration, both also from ECU.

   As a child, she was raised in both the Catholic and Baptist faiths while living in Mexico, and later after marriage and living in Gatesville, she and her husband attended Gatesville United Methodist Church. She loved the quiet life of Gatesville, living on the family farm, riding her bike, walking the dogs, and enjoying her friends and church family. Life was good!

   In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 22 years, Charles Carter Ellis; a sister, five brothers; and many friends and co-workers at Vidant Medical.

   A memorial service to be held in the Vidant Medical Center Chapel is being planned and those arrangements when complete will be updated to this obituary.
