Robert Dollison Spry, Jr.

   Robert Dollison Spry, Jr., 70, of 130 Micmac Trail, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, September 1, 2022 in his home.

   Mr. Spry was born in Norfolk, VA on October 11, 1951, and was the son of the late Robert D. Sr. and Shirley Distal Spry.

   Formerly employed with the Virginia Beach Postal Service at their downtown office, he later worked as a boating engineer with L.S. Brown in Atlanta, GA. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he and his wife were members of Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth City.

   Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Louise Macomber Spry; a daughter, Kimberly Renee Kendricks (Lewis) of Winston-Salem; a son, William Ashton Turner, Jr. (Rhonda) of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Charlie Spry of Kill Devil Hills and John Spry of Huntington, WV; and four grandchildren, Ashton Kendricks (Megan), Alexandra Kendricks, Tyler Belton, and Brett Belton.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17th, at 1:00 p.m. in Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church and will be conducted by the Reverend Sam Jones and Reverend Tanta Lockhardt-Hendricks.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
