Robert Scott Mathews “Bobby”, 22, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Bobby was born on December 12, 2003 in Elizabeth City, NC and is the son of Robert Paul Mathews and Melanie Scott Edwards (Daniel LaLone).

Bobby is preceded in death by his granddaddy, Marvin H. “Boots” Mathews and his papa, Al Santana.

Bobby is survived by his parents; Robert Paul Mathews and Melanie Scott Edwards (Daniel LaLone); his sister, Emily Marie Mathews; grammie, Joyce Santana and meme Rita E. Mathews; his aunts, Lori Baker (Del Baker) and Joy Scott Miller (Mark Miller); cousins, Nicole, Ryan, Emma, Ellie, Emerson, Ava, and Mathew; and also many other extended family members, Kallie and Matt Yates, Bryson, Grady, Allie and Jeffrey Williams, Reese, Kaylee, Brelyn, Annie and Kelly Olson, Austin, Hannah (Nick), Jacob, Linda Harris, Aaron and Carolyn Harris, Jill and Lee Galt, Meredith, Audrey, John boy, Terry Signs, Jessie Cox, and Bobby’s best friends, Gabe Gambidilla and Mason Jernigan.

Bobby was a content creator with a Youtube channel, ToxicSkullX for seven years. He graduated high school with his last two years of school being home schooled. Bobby had passion for playing the drums, his favorite band being "Lamb of God" here is Bobby playing his beloved drums https://youtu.be/eGcoAbu_g4s Along with the drums he enjoyed playing the guitar, he also built computers and loved gaming online with his friends. Bobby loved animals and left behind a cat, he also enjoyed throwing footballs at the beach. He really enjoyed cookies and cream, cookie dough ice cream, chicken tenders, and honey bun. Bobby loved exploring in nature and most of all he liked helping anyone in need.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday May 24, 2026 at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home in Gatesville, NC.
