Robert Edward “Bob” Leiser, 65, of Hertford, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Bob was a unique guy. His wardrobe consisted of jeans and Hawaiian shirts. The master of puns and quick wit, no one spent much time with Bob without laughing.
Bob leaves behind his wife Toni Lynn Leiser; sisters, Jean Jacobs and Barbara Leiser (Rob Jeffrey); nephews, Stephen Weiss (Ariel), Jeremy Jacobs (Tiffany); nieces, Cydney Jeffrey and Sierra Jernigan (Neil); grandchildren, Raven Legette (Billy Thompson), Wesley Ivan Hayman (Danielle), Jessica Lynn Topolewski, Samuel Isaak Hayman, Alaynah Duhkie; great granddaughter, Novalee Thompson; dear friends and inlaws, David and Gayle Conatser. Bob was a blues man at heart. Self-taught, he became a true master of harmonica. During COVID he taught himself to play bass guitar . Music was as important to Bob's soul as air to his lungs. His taste in music was eclectic, from David Crowder to Frank Zappa.
He and his wife enjoyed going to concerts, taking road trips and spending time together in deep, sometimes animated conversations over coffee
Bob came to Christ in 1998. It totally changed his outlook on life. Bob fervently read scripture, commentaries, etc. Anything to learn everything he could about Jesus. Bob was a wonderful teacher of the Word. From young adults Sunday School to a message on Sunday morning, his awe and wonder for God shone brightly on his face. Bob and Toni attended Calvary Chapel of Elizabeth City where he served as a deacon and a member of the worship team
Bob served in the US Navy from 1979 to 1993. Assigned to the USS Inchon, he saw action as part of the multinational force in Beirut in 1983. One of Bob's favorite memories of the Navy was the months he spent as a liaison with the British Navy.
