It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bobby” Hayden Eure Sr., a

beloved resident of Hertford, NC, who left us on Friday, September 25th, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born on Thursday, June 28th, 1944, in Hertford, NC, Bobby lived a remarkable life of devoted

service to his family, community, and faith.

Bobby was a dedicated farmer who had a commitment to the land and in his off time he was a

carpenter, helping build many houses and other projects. Bobby’s dedication to his community

was evident through his involvement as a Charter member of Durants Neck Volunteer Fire

Department, a past member of Perquimans County Volunteer Rescue Squad, retired Farm

Bureau Director, past member of Durants Neck Ruritan Club, Charter member of Forestburg

Ruritan Club, and a volunteer at Camp Cale. He retired as a respected Farmer, leaving behind a

legacy marked by hard work and dedication.

He was a workaholic and a humble, caring man who placed immense value on faith and family.

Bobby touched the lives of many with his generosity and willingness to lend a hand, always

community-oriented and deeply cherished by those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Hazel Eure, of Hertford, NC. Bobby was a

proud and devoted father to his three sons: Robert Hayden Eure Jr. and his wife Rena, David

Eure and his wife Heather, and Peter Eure and his wife Tabitha. He was a cherished grandfather

to six beautiful grandchildren: Chris (Lindsey), Josh (Becca), Stephanie (Travis), Seth (Brooke),

Liam, and Hayden. He also had the joy of witnessing the growth of four great-grandchildren:

Tilson, Larson, Samuel, and Lucas.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Delwin Hayden Eure and Leona Umphlett Eure, as well

as by his siblings Albert Eure, Mary Francis Fisher, and Shirley Brooks.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation to be held on Thursday,

October 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Homes in

Hertford, NC. A funeral service celebrating Bobby's life will take place on Friday, October 2,

2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Berea Church of Christ at 1664 New Hope Rd Hertford,

NC.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Homes & Crematory -

Hertford.

Eure family would like friends and family to know they can be visited at Robert and Rena’s

Residence at 416 Whitehat Road, Herford, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that donations be made in Bobby's name to

Durants Neck Volunteer Fire Department, 1724 New Hope Rd Hertford NC or the Camp Cale

Association at, 377 Camp Cale Rd Hertford NC. His memory will forever be treasured by all who

had the honor to know him. Rest in peace, Bobby. You are dearly missed and fondly

remembered.
