Philip Bruce Hobson

Philip (Bruce) Hobson, 78, of Hertford, NC, passed away on December 24, 2025, at his home.

Bruce was born in Trenton, NJ, on February 22, 1947, and was the son of the late Connie and Arthur Hobson.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Angelucci, as well as his nephew, Christopher Archambault.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Angelucci Hobson; sister Janice Archambault and husband Emil; brother and sisters-in-laws, Don and Geri Angelucci, and Joe and Diane Angelucci; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bruce graduated from Steinert High School in 1964 and later served in the US Army National Guard for six years. After Bruce graduated from college, he began work at FMC in Princeton, NJ, as a process and research chemist. Bruce was awarded two U.S. patents and multiple foreign versions for chemical processing innovations, and later became a manager of safety, security, and industrial hygiene. Bruce left FMC and founded Certified Safety Services, Inc., to assist clients with their safety, health, and security concerns.

Following his professional career, Philip later retired and moved to Albemarle Plantation in Hertford, NC, where he was involved in many community activities, including being on the Community Emergency Response Team.
