Peggy Jones

   Margaret Sylvia Stewart "Peggy" Jones, 79, of Corapeake, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in her home.

   Mrs. Jones was born in Statesville on March 12, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Richard Clyde and Opal Vella Smith Stewart.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Jones, a son-in-law, Bob DeWitt, and by a sister, Barbara Joyce.

   A retired special education teacher's aide from Suffolk Public Schools, she was an active member of Great Fork Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and had taught Sunday school for many years.

   Surviving is her son, John Jones (wife, Cathy); two daughters, Valerie Dorn (husband, Brian) and Dana DeWitt; a brother, Dale; a sister, Cynthia; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 11, at 11:00 a.m. in Great Fork Baptist Church.
