Peggy Lynn Jennings Trueblood

Peggy Lynn Jennings Trueblood, 75, passed away at her home in Elizabeth City, NC, on May 25, 2026.

Peggy was born in Perquimans County on March 29, 1951, and was the daughter of the late Eddie Lee Jennings and Eunice Hurdle Jennings.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clifton Trueblood, and siblings, Samuel Jennings, Bradley Jennings, and Sandra Morrisette.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Hilts, and her husband Richard; special niece, Kelly Cross, and her daughter Emily Quigley; and step-children, Tanya Jones (Aubrey) and Todd Trueblood (Shannon).

Peggy worked at Carolina Telephone & Telegraph Company, which later transitioned to Sprint Phone Company, and retired after 25 plus years. After retiring, she went to A&A Insurance & Investments in Elizabeth City, and retired again at age 70. Thirty years ago, Peggy was given the gift of more time on this earth through a kidney transplant. She lived with strength, faith, gratitude, and grace through all the years that followed.
