Patricia Hassell "Pat" Hudson

On May 27, 2025 Patricia Hassell Hudson, 87, of Winton, NC left our presence to live in her eternal home.

She was born in Roper, North Carolina to William Jordan Hassell and Lydia Sexton Hassell. She was the youngest of 16 children and "Trick" enjoyed warm and loving relationships with all her family throughout her life.

In 1957, she married her late husband Robert Hudson and they had 4 children, Daphne Lewis (Thomas) of Winton, NC, Jeffrey Hudson of Nashville, TN, Gregory Hudson (DeeDee) of Orlando, Florida and Susan Dodge (Glen) of Sherwood, AR. She also embraced one son of the heart, Greg Hooks (Dominique) of Owings, MD. She was a loving and proud Grandma and Grammy to Joseph, Stephanie, Lydia, Aaron, Rebekah, Seth, Austin, Brooke, Singleton and Tiffany, and a wonderful great Grandmother to Dominic, Alex, Daniel, Hudson, Sachiel, Brittany, Jessie, Owen, Courtney, Melita, Mikaela, Caleb, Isaac, Faith, Anabell, Emma, Katie, Micah, Emelyn, Myla, and Liam. 5 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous "bonus" children to love.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.

Pat was a wonderful student and lifetime learner, graduating in the top of her high school class. As a adult she was a skilled student and teacher of the Word of God, where she valued creating an interactive study environment with many who sought to attend her classes.

Her ability to learn allowed her to achieve personal career success. She was a former Controller for Dow Corning Ophthalmics and Controller of Hudson Masonry Company, where she partnered with her husband to build a successful and respected business.

She was also quite artistic and loved to turn her hand to creating beautiful things. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed making creations for her family. Her children and grandchildren proudly display her paintings in their homes.

Pat was reserved by nature but loved with her whole heart. When you became "hers" she never gave up on you and while she may find it necessary to give you loving correction, she would defend you vigorously to any and all.

She was a keeper of confidences, trusted advisor and friend to many.

We are all richer for having this generous woman in our lives and look forward to seeing her again when we cross into eternity.
