Paige Perry Hollowell

Paige Perry Hollowell, 91, of Edenton, NC passed away peacefully Monday, October 27, 2025, at her home.

Born March 29, 1934, in Chowan County, born to the late John E. and Mattie Knight Perry. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Marcelle “Mike” Hollowell; granddaughter, Mia R. Suddreth; two sisters, Virginia P. Warren, Mary Emma Spivey; seven brothers, J.E. Perry Jr., James (Snookie) Perry, Glenn H. Perry, Carroll (Teeny Boy) Perry, Thomas O. Perry, Ted R. Perry, and Emmett K. Perry. Surviving are her two daughters, Deborah H. Collins of Yorktown, VA, Shelia H. Byers (George) of Hampton VA; son, Rodney C. Hollowell (Sandra) of Newport News, VA; and a granddaughter, Madison A. Hollowell of Washington DC.

Mike and Paige started their new life together in Hampton, Virginia, where they raised their family. They were active members of Calvary Baptist Church on 48th Street in Newport News for 38 years. Following her retirement from Bell Atlantic Telephone Company after 33 years of service, they returned to Edenton, North Carolina, in 1990. In Edenton, they became active members of Albemarle Baptist Church before later moving their membership to Cape Colony Church of Christ. Paige lived her life as a true child of God, a faith that was beautifully summed up in her words, "God has blessed me!" Her loving nature touched everyone she met, and she was cherished by her family, friends, and neighbors. In her final weeks, all were comforted by the outpouring of prayers, cards, visits, and kindness received from a community that so clearly loved her in return.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, Edenton, NC.
