Nancy Jo Bennett Britt

   Nancy Jo Bennett Britt, 65, of Plymouth, NC, danced through the pearly gates of Heaven, free of pain and suffering, on Friday, April 21, 2023 from her home where she was surrounded by her devoted daughter and loved ones.

   Mrs. Britt was born in Washington County on December 10, 1957, and was the daughter of the late Noah Samuel and Dorothy Mae Hollis Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dale Britt.

   A wonderful daughter, daughter-in-law, wife, mother, GeGe, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many, she was loved by all who knew her. Nancy had a heart of gold, a smile that was contagious, and she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

   During her 65 years of life, Nancy had been employed at Natkin Construction, Hutchins Law Firm, and with her mom at Dot’s Antiques. Known to many for her big heart, good nature and laughter, she was an avid collector of anything Coca-Cola! Other areas of enjoyment included her love of the beach and a good flea market or yard sale. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter and grandkids. She will be missed tremendously.

   Surviving is her daughter who loved and adored her, Heather Jo Robinson (Micah); her “second daughter”, Journey Smith; two cherished granddaughters, Tori Jo and Amiah, all of Plymouth. Also surviving is her loving brother, Tony Bennett (Julie) of Plymouth; a nephew, Tyler Bennett (Brett) of Washington; a niece, Alison Hardison (Josh) of Jamesville; along with many loving cousins and very special family, especially Vann Haskett Smith and Stephanie Gurganus.

   A graveside service will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in Martin Memorial Gardens, 12813 US 64, Williamston, and will be conducted by the Rev. Jay Hardison. Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the residence, 2650 US Hwy 64 West, Plymouth.
