Mildred Wilson Boyce passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. Mrs. Boyce was born on March 27, 1928 in the Rocky Hock Community of Chowan County, North Carolina and was raised on her family’s farm.

In addition to her parents Elton RayWilson and Ella Harrell Wilson, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Elton Kelley Boyce; an infant brother, Raymond Wilson; sisters, Frances Wilson Moore, Dorothy Wilson Harris, Mabel Wilson Butt, and Carolyn Wilson Forehand.

A homemaker in earlier years, she was employed by Belk Tyler’s in Edenton from 1964 until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her beloved memory are her sons, Robert Ray Boyce and his wife, Marilyn of Suffolk, Virginia, , Elton Keith Boyce and his wife, Marilyn of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; daughter, Lynette Boyce Taylor and her husband, Larry of Merry Hill, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Boyce Barnett (Jim), Chad Boyce (Theresa), Michelle Boyce Strickland (Jimmy), Morgan Boyce (Alexis), Molly Boyce Jones (Robbie), Kelley Dail Cale (Johnny), Curtis Dail (Lori), Laney Taylor Hoggard (Lee), and Laurel Taylor; thirteen great grandchildren, Megan Burnett Bowe, Christian Burnett, Cara Boyce, Paisley Strickland, Annsley Strickland, Brooklyn Boyce, Brielle Boyce, Maitlyn Jones, Jase Jones, Kelton Cale, Lindley Dail, Reed Hoggard and Taylor Hoggard; one great-great grandson, Charlie Bowe; two sisters, Marguerite Parrish and Marie Bale; brother, Herbert Wilson and his wife, Mary; and her many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Boyce’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home Chapel, Edenton, NC with Pastor Trey Rogers officiating. Interment will be private at Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
