Michael Fahey Slades

Michael Fahey Slades, 70, of Edenton, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Born on February 13, 1956 in Chowan County, NC, Michael was the husband of the late Connie Hollowell Slades and the son of Clinton Woodrow Slades, Sr. and Evelyn Eugenia Parrish Slades, both deceased. Michael retired from Chowan County EMS after 25 years of service.

Survivors include his daughters, Misty Friend and husband, Jason, and Jessica Slades; grandchildren, Aaliyah Friend, Juliana Slades, and Emma Ervin; sister, Kay Dennison; niece, Betsye Slades; nephew, Brett Dennison; sister-in-law, Betty Ward and husband, Jim; and brother-in-law, Jerry Hollowell and wife, Jean.

In addition to his wife and parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton Woodrow Slades, Jr.

A time of visitation and celebration of Michael’s life will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, Edenton, NC.
