Michael Thomas “Mike” Sausedo, 66, of Eure, NC, died Sunday, July 24, 2022, in his home.
Mike was born in Huntington Park, California on November 1, 1955, and was the son of the late Thomas Sausedo, Jr. and Marjorie Hope Kerchev Sausedo.
Employed as a pipefitter and welder with Norfolk Naval Shipyard, before moving to Eure he worked for twenty years in the Alaskan oil fields. He had volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician and was an artisan carver of fossil ivory and antlers. Mike worked in the Brooks Range of Alaska on a gold mine and loved his family, his dogs, hunting, fishing and his artwork. He was a member of Eure Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Cynthia Wetzel Sausedo; his son, Scott Robert Sausedo (wife, Perla) of Colima, MX; his step-mother, Virginia Harlow Sausedo of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Diana Mull of Mission Viejo, CA; and Maria Sausedo (husband, Danny) of Fullerton, CA and a brother, Richard “Rick” Sausedo (wife, Elena) of Riverside, CA; a granddaughter, Maya Ophelia Sausedo and many nieces and nephews and extended family members; Dennis, Amanda, Dana and Serenity Powell.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
