Michael Edward “Mike” Albertson, 69, of Camden, NC, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, in his home.
Mr. Albertson was born in Pasquotank County on May 31, 1955, and was the son of the late Edward Virginia and Audrey Long Albertson. Retired as a general manager in the carpet industry following 30 years of employment, he first worked with Mill-End Carpet Shop and later with Interiors by H & W. A Methodist by faith, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, and playing his bass guitar having been a former band member of the Dixie Dawgs based in Hertford. Active in the community, he enjoyed membership in the Elizabeth City Jaycees and the V-Twin Cruisers MC where in both had served as Past President, and in the Widow’s Son Masonic Lodge #75 in Camden where he currently served as Secretary.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Connie Doxey Albertson; a stepdaughter, Tracy Umphlett (Joe); a grandson, Hunter Umphlett, both of Hertford; a sister, Cindy Albertson of Longs, SC; two brothers, Larry Albertson (Cathy) and Ricky Albertson (Gina), both of Elizabeth City; two nieces, Tammy Olving (Todd) and Loren Cartwright (Nate); three nephews, David Albertson (Taylor), and Christopher and Kyle Albertson; his mother-in-law, Shirley Doxey; and furry canine friend, Frisco.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Camden Methodist Church and will be conducted by Pastor Jesse Purkett. Friends may visit with the family in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Camden Methodist Building Fund, 197 NC Highway 343 S., Camden, NC 27921.
