Mary Arlette Vopelak Waff, 71, of Edenton, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Mary was born in Edenton, NC on September 22, 1955 and was the daughter of Joseph R. Vopelak and Ruby Ann Wheeler Vopelak, both deceased. She was the wife of 52 years to Perry Waff.

Survivors include her husband, Perry; son, Shaun Waff; sister, Kimberly Ann Lewis and husband, Donnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home Chapel, Edenton, NC with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Waff Family Cemetery, Edenton, NC. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service in the chapel.
