Mary Lou Peele Belch

   Mary Lou Peele Belch, 81, of 1734 Rocky Hock Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

   Mrs. Belch was born in Chowan County on August 4, 1937, and was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Virginia Ruth Jordan Peele. Employed for many years as a sales representative with Roses, she was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus Leon “Pete” Belch; four sisters, Aleathia Hollowell, Cora Hollowell, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Jordan, and Ethel Privott; two brothers, Leslie and Charlie Peele; and by a daughter-in-law, Dawn Belch.

   Surviving are her three sons, Douglas Belch and wife, Sandra, Wade Belch, and Tim Belch and wife, Carla; a brother, Clinton Peele, all of Edenton; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Dr. James Horton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services, and all other times at the residence.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, 113 Rocky Hock Church Road, Edenton, NC 27932.
