Mary Ann
Armagost
Dec 28, 1940 — Jun 25, 2026
Mary Ann Armagost, 85, formerly of Lucinda, PA, gained her wings on June 25, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Gates, North Carolina.
Born at home in Lucinda, PA on December 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie E. Griebel.
On August 12, 1961 she married the love of her life Leroy E “Spark” Armagost at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. They were married 63 years prior to his passing on August 28, 2024.
Mary Ann’s first job was working at the Warren Process from June 1960 to August 1962.
After starting her family, she stayed at home to care for her children for several years.
She then worked at North Clarion High School Cafeteria from August 1975 to June 2002, which she found very rewarding watching all the kids grow up. She loved seeing them as adults and talking to them to find out what they were up to and whether they were married and had kids.
Mary Ann loved spending time with her family, quilting, and baking for her children and grandchildren. She also loved her flowers. She enjoyed sharing them with so many people who would come and get them. She had them dug out. All you had to do was just come and pick them up.
After moving to North Carolina, Mary Ann enjoyed working in the flowerbeds, baking, family game nights, playing dominoes at the community center and spending time with her friend and companion, Melanie Wynn.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Jane Eisenman and her husband, Steve of Leeper, Veronica Dehner and her husband, Keith of Leeper, Brian Armagost and his wife, Dayna of Ohio and Amy Niemetz and her husband, Neil of North Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elisha Woods, Travis Dehner, Courtney Lauer, Amber Hughes, Jessica Moore, Taylor Armagost, Kirk Niemetz and Nate Armagost; great grandchildren, Kylie Disney, Abby Lauer, Ella Lauer, Nate Hughes, Andy Lauer, Ryan Moore, and Janessa Moore; and one great-great grandchild, Emerson Lauer.
She is also survived by her sister, Jo Ann Gabler and husband, Tom of Leeper, and Charles Griebel and wife, Helen of Dubois; sisters-in-law, Cindy Bell and husband, Randy of Strattanville and Nancy Armagost of Corsica; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in St. Joseph Church, with a dinner to follow.
Interment will take place at the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
