Marguerite "Betty" Perry, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal friend, peacefully departed this world on July 8, 2026, at the age of 94. Betty embodied warmth, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of everyone she met.
Betty spent her career working for a printing company, a job that fulfilled her love for precision and creativity. Outside of work, she found joy in life's simple pleasures—cooking sumptuous meals for her family, tending to her vibrant garden, and spending tranquil afternoons under the old oak tree, gazing out at the Chowan River. It was in these moments of stillness that Betty found her peace and inspiration.
For over sixty years, Betty was the loving and devoted wife of Garris Perry. Their enduring marriage stood as a testament to their deep bond and mutual respect. Her son, Thomas Bozard and fiancé Cathy, carry on her legacy of love and compassion.
Betty was the proud grandmother to Brooke, who, alongside her husband Bobby Crisher, brought joy and laughter into Betty's life. Her grandson Sean Bozard and his wife Cassie, and granddaughter Heather Bozard, were sources of immense pride for Betty, as were her five great-grandsons, who she adored dearly. Her family extended beyond blood, as she counted several nieces, nephews, and many friends and neighbors among her cherished loved ones.
A pillar of her community, Betty was the oldest member of Bandon Chapel, where her faith and commitment to serving others shone brightly. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In honor of Betty's memory, in her words, she left this heartfelt message "When memories last and carry on, a loved one is never truly gone." Her indomitable spirit and the love she shared will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends.
