Marcy Ertel Ashton

Marcy Ertel Ashton, 75, of Edenton, NC passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 with her loving and devoted family by her side. She was a daughter of the late Jerome Ertel and Vivian Hirschfeld Ertel.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Douglas Wayne Ashton; her daughters, Sarah Plouffe (James) and Amanda Milam (Zachary); a son, Jeremy Ashton (Jennifer); her sister, Diane Schneider (Kenneth); six grandchildren, Stella, David, Leah, Shelby, Tessa and Henry; and numerous other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sylvan Heights Bird Park, 500 Sylvan Heights Park Way, Scotland Neck, NC 27874 or The Service League of Greenville Hospice House, 920 Wellness Avenue, Greenville, NC 27834.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
