Maeve Elizabeth Adams

Maeve went to sleep in her mommy’s belly unexpectedly and without reason 2 days before her due date and was born into this world on July 14, 2023 at 12:29 pm. She was 7 lb 7 oz and 21 inches of perfection with the most beautiful face, a head full of dark hair, and the longest eyelashes.

Maeve is the daughter of Jonathan and Mara Adams who have been dreaming of holding a baby in their arms for nearly 3 years now. They were beyond excited to meet their baby girl and spent the past 9 months imagining her future and all of the things they would do together as a family. During her 9 months of life growing inside her mother’s belly, Maeve got to visit many family and friends, travel to her first National Park, snuggle with her fur siblings, and eat a lot of cookies, ice cream, and her daddy’s great cooking. Maeve made things so easy for her mom throughout her whole pregnancy and loved to play possum when her dad talked to her. She was our little Maevey Bean, always so active, constantly kicking and rolling around, dancing to music, and making faces at the camera during her ultrasounds. Her mom and dad refer to her as their busy little bee and their little wildflower.

During her brief visit on Earth, Maeve was welcomed by family, friends, and countless of her parent’s coworkers. Her parents were truly overwhelmed by the number of people who came to meet her and the love that they have for Maeve. They wanted the whole world to meet their precious daughter and help Maeve’s memory live on forever. For someone so small and here for such a brief time, she made a huge impact on so many people. Maeve will always be our little Irish Warrior. She is already missed beyond measure and will live on in the hearts of her parents forever and always.

Maeve is survived by Jonathan and Mara Adams of Elizabeth City, NC (formerly of Hagerstown, MD and Pittsburgh, PA); her grandparents John and Lisa Adams, Colleen Miller, Todd and Barbara McConnell, and Dan Stagani; her great grandparents Elizabeth Miller, Richard and Joan McConnell, Thomas and Patricia Richards, and Paul Adams; uncles Ryan and Grant Adams; aunts Caroline McConnell and Maria Castellanos; and many more great aunts/uncles and cousins. Waiting in spirit to hold Maeve in their arms are her Great-Pap Pap James Miller and her Great-Grandma Mary Adams.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton, NC for their incredible care and compassion during such a tragic time. The family appreciates all of the thoughts and prayers extended to us during this time. Maeve’s life and memory plan to be celebrated with memorial picnics in her honor at her mother and father’s childhood homes with their closest family and friends.

“I carried you every second of your life and will love you every second of mine.”

“Grief is just love with no place to go.”

“You are our world, our love, and our lives, today and always.”
