Mabel Frew Dickens

Mabel Alice Frew Dickens, 83, of Hertford, NC, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, in her home where she was being cared for by family. 

Mrs. Dickens was born in Portsmouth, VA on April 6, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Arthur Jones Frew and Mabel Margaret Massengil Frew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Emily Crostic and Jackie Kilby.

 A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, surviving is her husband of 40 years, Richard L. Dickens; three children, Richard A. Barber of Duncansville, PA, Michael W. Barber of Suffolk, VA, and Susan M. Baker (husband, David) of Leesburg, FL; five grandchildren, Daniel, Krista, Sarah, Philip and Ashley; and a great-granddaughter, Ember.
