Linda Cotton Littrell

Linda Cotton Littrell, born in Norfolk, Virginia, entered eternal rest on November 22, 2025, at Gatesville Health and Rehabilitation. She was the daughter of Annie Ruth Cotton and Willie Raymond Cotton and sister to Nerius Grant Cotton and Gregory Cotton.
She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Timothy Littrell and his wife Allison; Terry Littrell and his wife Vicki; her treasured grandchildren, Cassie, Noah, and Aubrey; and precious great-grandchildren, Jayce and Sadie Mae; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
A devoted single mother, Linda navigated the challenges of the 1970s with remarkable strength and determination. She spent most of her adult life in Virginia Beach, Virginia before making her home in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A woman of steadfast faith, Linda loved her Lord deeply and read her Bible with devotion.
Linda will be remembered for her humor, creativity, and bold spirit. She found joy in laughter, drawing, gardening, and preparing meals for those she loved. She often spoke of “failing forward,” reminding everyone it was okay to stumble if you got back up. Her courage, honesty and unmistakable voice left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Throughout her career, Linda worked in various fields before discovering her calling in hotel management, serving faithfully as manager of the Goodnight Inn and Comfort Inn in Elizabeth City. She also opened The Judge’s Chambers restaurant in downtown Elizabeth City, a reflection of her ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, and her sister-in-law.
Linda’s life was one of love, faith, resilience, and joy. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished by those who had the honor of knowing and loving her.
