Larry Gray Winslow

   Larry Gray Winslow, 80, of 2848 Willowwood Drive, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home.

   Mr. Winslow was born on April 18, 1943, in the Belvidere community of Perquimans County, NC, one of five children of the late Otho Iverton and Missouria Sarah Chappell Winslow. He dedicated many years to Old Dominion Steel Company and was a proud member of Ironworkers Local Union 79 in Norfolk. Following his retirement, he joined his wife in managing the family business, PBW Lawn Care. Together, they faithfully attended Deep Creek Baptist Church for over 20 years.

   Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Pauline Byrum Winslow; his sons, Larry Dean Winslow of Portsmouth and Forrest Gray Winslow of Norfolk; daughter-in-law, Kelly Frame Winslow of Chesapeake; two sisters, Geralene Smithson (husband, Vernon) of Elizabeth City, NC and Rachel Godfrey of Norfolk; two brothers, Otho Winslow, Jr. of Elizabeth City and Paul Winslow (wife, Hazel) of Wilson, NC; seven grandchildren, Maria (Stephen), Justin (Meriel), Beth (Zach), Kate (Matthew), Meg (Josh), Chad, and Caroline; and six great-grandchildren, Jaden, Gabrielle, Grayson, Gavin, Rosa, and Emmett with Sam expected in October.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 5th, at 1:00 p.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church, 250 Mill Creek Parkway in Chesapeake. Pastor Cal Myers will officiate the service. Prior to the ceremony, friends may visit with the family at the church, starting one hour before the services, or at other times at the residence.

   The graveside service will take place later that afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, 534 Happy Home Road, Tyner, NC.
