Kim Howell

   Marvin Kim Howell, 64, of 36 White Oak Road, Eure, NC, died Friday, January 27, 2023 in his home.

   Kim was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 9, 1958 and was the son of Lowell Thomas and Yvonne Askew Howell of Eure.

   A graduate of Deep Creek High School, he was the school’s Drum Major in both his Junior and Senior years. After high school he worked at Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock Corp. (Norshipco) where he received his Certificate in Welding from the Apprentice School. Later after illness disabled him and he had to leave the ship yard, he worked with his father in the family business, Howell’s Home Improvements, specializing in aluminum and vinyl siding installation. He attended Eure Christian Church.

   In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sharon Howell Silva, and his brother Glendon Howell, both of Chesapeake, VA; four nieces, a great-niece, four great-nephews; and other relatives from both the Askew and Howell families.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Eure Christian Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Wade Bennett and the Rev. Wayne Gardner. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the service or other times at the residence.
