Kenneth John Farrell

    Kenneth John "Ken" Farrell, 75, of Gates County, died Friday, January 28, 2022 in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.

   Mr. Farrell was born in Alameda County, CA on March 22, 1946, and was the son of the late Robert Francis Farrell and Genevieve Mae Smith Farrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Farrell.

   Retired from the US Navy following 20 years of service, he enjoyed membership in the William Clarence Jackson Post 6060 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a former member of both the Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion.

   Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Frances Decky Farrell; a daughter, Carey Ann Riley; a brother, Patrick Farrell (wife, Ro); two sisters, Kelly Farrell and Cathy Farrell (husband, Tim); three grandchildren, Nikki, Connor, and Jack; a great-grandson, Asher; and many other family and friends who dearly loved him.

   A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Post 6060 of the V.F.W., 1433 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Post 6060 of the V.F.W. or to your local animal shelter.
