Kay Dail Nixon

   Hallie Kay Dail Nixon, 79, of 1646 Rocky Hock Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, August 19, 2023 in ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

   Mrs. Nixon was born in Beaufort County on November 21, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Clifton Riley and Katie Stilley Brooks Dail. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas “Johnny” Nixon; and by a granddaughter, Jodi Lynn Skinner.

   Retired from the Design Department of George C. Moore Company, she was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church.

   Surviving is her husband of 47 years, David Thomas Nixon; two daughters, Teresa Kay Forward (husband, Douglas) of Edenton and Judi Gregory (husband, Lee) of Camden; a sister, Mary Dail Karr of Corona, CA; three grandchildren; Allen Forward, Johnny Skinner (wife, Shara), and Kristina Bryant (husband, K.J.); and seven great-grandchildren, Melanie, Brianna, Isaiah, Sadie, Skylar, Kloe, and Zoe.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Rev. Matthew Dupuy. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.
