Kathy Michelle Modlin, age 61, of Sunbury, N.C., passed away on April 3, 2026.

She was born September 13, 1964 in Elizabeth City to Jesse and Joyce Modlin. Kathy enjoyed crafting and creating personalized gifts for family members, and looked forward to annual family girls’ trips each summer.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Greene Modlin. Survivors include her three children, Kiri (C.J.), Oliver, and Clay; her father, Jesse; her sister, Kim (Mark); and brothers, Keith (Annette) and Kevin (Kelly); in addition to many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
