Kathryn Winters Schwartz

Mattie Kathryn Winters “Kathy” Schwartz, 89, of Hertford, NC, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

Mrs. Schwartz was born in Sulphur Springs, TX on January 27, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Christine Cross Winters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Merton Schwartz, a sister, and by a brother. A homemaker, she was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elizabeth City.

Surviving are her three daughters, DeAnn S. “Dee” McNulty, LeAnn S. Hinton, and Deb Sauer; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
