It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Katherine Elvira Cummings, who left this world peacefully on September 9th, 2026. Born on March 11th, 1941, in the picturesque city of Santa Monica, California, Katherine lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Katherine was a graduate of Venice High School, where she played tennis and was a member of a string ensemble in which she played the steel guitar, while winning numerous music competitions. She was also a devoted homemaker and loved to entertain. Katherine was very artistic, being gifted in drawing, painting, ballroom dancing, sewing, cooking and was a avid gardener. was a beloved resident of Tyner, North Carolina, where she created a warm and welcoming home with her devoted husband, Ron Cummings. Together, they built a family rooted in love and strength, and Katherine found immense joy in her role as a mother. She is survived by her four devoted daughters: Debbie (Ron) Schmautz, Denise (Butch) Archie, Virginia (Francis) Robles, and Tonya, brothers, John "Butch" Bruni, along with seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren each of whom carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion.

She was predeceased by her parents, John Bruni and Katherine Brown, and one brother Ensworth Bruni whose memories she held dear throughout her life. Katherine's spirit was a guiding light to her family and friends, and her strength of character inspired those around her.

Katherine will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and generous heart touched the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with her dear parents.
