Karin Lynn Kuchinski Harris

Karin Lynn (Kuchinski) Harris, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, after facing life’s challenges with quiet strength and resilience.

Karin was born on April 13, 1951, in Washington, D.C. Anyone who knew Karin understood that her life was not always easy, yet she carried a remarkable capacity for forgiveness, even when hurt, she found a way to let go. She was strong‑willed, unafraid to speak her mind, and quick to stand her ground when she believed she was right. Karin was also very generous to all, regardless if you were her friend or a stranger. Karin is survived by her brother, Randy Kuchinski, and his wife Donna, of Texas.

Though she did not have a large circle of friends, the ones she had were sincere and deeply valued. She often spoke fondly of her childhood friend Penny, whom she had lost touch with in recent years. She also cherished the love and support of the entire Restrepo family, who stood by her through many difficult times.

In her final years, she was blessed with the unwavering friendship of Nancy Harris, who remained by her side and always held hope for Karin to find the peace and stability she deserved. Her Catholic faith was a steady anchor throughout her life, she carried her beliefs with devotion, finding comfort in prayer and in the traditions that connected her to her parents, Viola and Edward Kuchinski, who preceded her in death. Karin often reminisced about her dog, PeeWee, who had once belonged to her mother. As everyone close to her knew, she had a special love for Winnie the Pooh and all his friends. Her stuffed animals were her constant companions—she talked to them, slept with them, and even played games with them. They brought her comfort, joy, and a sense of safety. Her life was not always easy, but she did the best she could with the cards she was dealt. Now, she is at peace, embraced by God’s love, and finally surrounded by the happiness she longed for.

A Mass and a Celebration of Life will be held in Washington, D.C.
