Julia Carole Miller Copeland

Julia Carole Miller Copeland, 83, of Edenton died Friday, October 24, 2025. She was a daughter of the late John Edward Miller and Gracie Davis Miller. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Dean W. Copeland; brother, Thomas Miller, Cordell and Tracy Miller; half brother and sister, J.E. Miller and Lucy H. Byrum.

She spent her whole career as a public school librarian and retired from Ahoskie Grade School.

Surviving her are her son, Carroll N. Copeland (Kristy); sister, Sarah Morris; grandchildren, Brooke Copeland, Carlton Copeland, Robert Rusbuldt and Evan Copeland (Katelyn); 9 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

A celebration of Julia’s life will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, Edenton with Reverend Randy Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 to 4:00 pm prior to the service.
