Jean Ellen Knight Nobles

   Jean Ellen Knight Nobles, 62 of Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 following a short illness.

   Jean was born in Bainbridge, GA on September 24, 1960 and was the daughter of the late Thurman Lawrence Knight, Jr. and Mary Evelyn Gunn Knight Bischoff. Raised in a military family, Jean lived in cities up and down the east coast from New York to Miami and spent a year in Alaska before settling in Virginia. A 1979 graduate of Deep Creek High School, Jean married Ricky Nobles in 2004.

   Surviving is her husband, Ricky; a daughter, Jennifer N. Faw; a sister, Barbara Lies; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, John Bischoff, and by a brother, Thurman L. Knight, III.

   A gathering of loved-ones to reflect on her life will be held Friday, July 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
