Janet Speller Brown

   Janet Marie Speller Brown, 80, of 607 Broad Street, Aulander, NC, died Monday, June 10, 2024, at her sister-in-law’s home where she was cared for by her family.

   Mrs. Brown was born in Martin County on October 18, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Louis McCllean Speller and Ora Moore Speller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Allen White; by her foster son, Paul Wayne Hill; and by a sister, Edith Smithwick.

   A retired Certified Nursing Assistant with Quality Home Care, she was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Windsor.

  Surviving is her husband, William W. Brown, Jr.; her son, Kenneth White of Williamston; two sisters, Barbara Barber of Jamesville and Kathy Dickens of Bear Grass; and nieces, nephews, and extended family members of both the Speller and Brown families.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Siloam Baptist Church, 1329 Cedar Landing Road, Windsor, and will be conducted by the Rev. Ray Williams. The burial will follow in the Speller Family Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the church and all other times at 205 North Lombardy Street, Aulander.
