James Melvin Russell

   James Melvin Russell, 63, of 124 Coffield Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, December 9, 2023 in ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

   Mr. Russell was born on August 27, 1960 in Portsmouth, VA and was the son of the late Andrew and Barbara Smith Russell. Formerly employed as a groundsman with Norfolk Southern Railway, he was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Tyner. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing.

   Surviving is his wife of 21 years, Diana Dawn Bailey Russell; his daughter, Ann Marie Russell of Windsor, VA; and three grandchildren.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
